ALÉA, the cream liquor that saves dairy products
Whether you prefer to savour late in the evening or après-ski, on ice or with your favourite ice cream, in January or all year long, ALÉA creams contain a strong message for the environment – besides tasting like crème brûlée…
Background
Launched in 2021, ALÉA alcohol liquors are the result of a collaboration between three Québec players, with the goal of reducing food waste. Let us explain.
- BluePearl Distillerie is the first creative partner in this collaboration. Together with the next two players, this Québec micro-distillery hopes to be part of a circular economy by creating ALÉA drinks.
- Approached by the former, Laiterie Chagnon is the second key player and key ingredient in this cream-based product. By transforming disliked dairy products, ALÉA saves nearly 500 ml of buttermilk.
- And finally, Café Pista is the third player involved in this collaboration. By adding its fair-trade coffee into the recipe, it allows ALÉA to integrate an environmental approach.
Local, waste-free and tasty are the 3 key ingredients that make up this Baileys from Québec.
A Vegan Option
Because innovation doesn’t stop there, BluePearl Distillerie decided to offer a vegan option to their alcoholic beverage to honour all dietary preferences. A recipe made with soy milk and coconut milk makes ALÉA the first plant-based spirit on the shelves of the SAQ.
