Gold is rebounding, or so the financial news is reporting. While the commodity is hot on the stock market it’s even hotter in home décor. While gold hasn’t been “in” vogue since the 80’s its is back now and bigger than ever… and I couldn’t be happier! I love gold in a home.

From facets and mirror frames, to accessories and art works, nothing says chic glam like gold. That said many of us are a little fearful of decorating with gold, so here are a few tips to help you make your home a golden delight!

Be unexpected

Going gold takes confidence! And being a little unpredictable will show off your design prowess. I love gold wallpaper on a ceiling, or painting a column gold. I also love the WOMY bar from Mobilia in gold. It adds flare and a splash of sexy to a living room or lounge area. The tufted design is timeless and very chic.

Don’t be afraid to layer

Gold looks even better when you layer it up. Start with a wallpaper with gold accents, add some artwork that features gold, like the WOMY lips painting (as seen on Cityline). Next, incorporate gold accents like a chair (I love the WOMY accent chair) pillows, accessories even a lamp. By layering the gold the space won’t feel too overwhelming but will give of a soft, confident glow.Blog_JanWomy_1140x1140px

Touch of gold

A splash of gold can go a long, long way. I love adding touches of gold in my serving accessories. The WOMY collection from mobilia includes a stylish gold tray and carafes. These pieces look amazing on any dining table or bar and also make great host gifts.

Light Bright

One of the best places to utilize gold is in a light fixture. Because gold is naturally reflective it can really soften the look of a room and act as “working” art. The new EROP table lamp from Mobilia is a sophisticated accent and features and elegant gold stem and base. The WASER lamp would also look perfect in any modern space and features a timeless style.

Happy Shopping!
