At IDS, interior design resonates in the air and showcases the numerous creations and talents of manufacturers, designers, retailers, and more! Companies from all around North America gather in Toronto to impress and inspire visitors throughout 3.5 days, after months of hard work and preparation. We had the amazing opportunity to incorporate some of our own trends and designs at the 2017 edition of this renown event.

Mobilia Booth

Participating at an Interior Design show of this size and reputation was a first for us. We took this challenge as an opportunity to go above and beyond on displays and presentations for our booth. We needed to differentiate ourselves by showcasing a unique and beautiful collection of products. “The Roaring Twenties” collection was the perfect choice of products to provide a visual display and an ambiance that was different than what anyone else would have.

“The Roaring Twenties” is a collection inspired by luxury, fantasy, and joie de vivre of the 1920’s.  This collection would create a level of intimacy and exclusivity perfect for the occasion!

Our mission? To appear grand and majestic from the outside while taking visitors into the secret world of illicitness, elegance, and luxury on the inside. We wanted to recreate the 1920’s in all its splendor.

Where the newest and most innovative designs meet

Once the booth was installed, we got ready for the opening cocktail. Approximately 6,000 people from the design industry and from the media were waiting to discover all of the designs and trends at the show. Amongst these were hundreds of guests who were going to visit our booth to discover our collection and toast to a glass of Champagne, the drink of the 1920’s.

Throughout the weekend we were able to visit other booths and discover new talents in the design industry. We uncovered many amazing designers and retailers whose artwork and style blew us away! Here are some examples:

  • Hangers in form of Cupcake molds, from Prototype, a company representing designers and their products. Aren’t they adorable?
  • Premiere paint in collaboration with Canadian Tire, a super creative booth with a beautiful multicolor mural. We just love that rainbow ceiling!
  • However, there was one super creative and ingenious artist whose design we fell in love with the most. Jamie Hayon is a Spanish art designer whose creativity has allowed him to push the boundaries of design and become a leader worldwide. At IDS, he showcased his new cabinet and mask installation. Inspired by the Stone Age, Jaime designed these pieces by collaborating with Caesarstone. Absolutely stunning!

An absolute success!

The Interior Design Show in Toronto was an absolute success! As well as having the opportunity to showcase our collection to a whole market of professionals and customers, we also had the luxury of assisting conferences held by the greats of the industry and discovering new and innovative designs created by other professionals.

What made the weekend even more rewarding was winning Best booth design in our category! It was an amazing recognition for all the hard work and dedication that was put forward in making this incredible weekend a success!

The Interior Design Show in Toronto was very enriching and enlightening on current trends and designs and is definitely worth reliving! One word of advice to keep you going at these shows: since we are often on our feet, follow the lead of our Marketing Director and wear flat shoes with of course a touch of design!
